Project Electrical Engineer

Peter Muhoro is an accomplished Electrical Engineer with a broad range of expertise in electrical services design, project management, and facility operations.

He is currently serving as a Project Electrical Engineer at Steadfirm Consortium Ltd. Peter holds a BTech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the Technical University of Kenya and a Higher Diploma in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Kenya Polytechnic University College.

He is a registered Graduate Technical Engineer with the Engineers Board of Kenya and a member of the ISO 9001: 2000 Quality Management Systems.

As Project Electrical Engineer, Peter is responsible for preparing concept designs of electrical services installations, detailed designs, procurement documents, tender evaluation and recommendations, construction supervision, quality assurance/quality control for electrical and mechanical services, contract management, client training, and preparation of operation and maintenance manuals and various reports.

Professional Experience:

  • Steadfirm Consortium Ltd (2023 – Present): As Project Electrical Engineer, Peter is involved in preparing concept designs of mechanical installations, project cost estimates, value engineering, detailed designs, construction drawings, tender documents, and reviewing and analyzing tenders. He also prepares O&M documentation for clients. Projects include the Safaricom Investment Cooperative Housing project – Miran residence.
  • Tworivers Lifestyle Center Ltd (2017 – 2023): Peter progressed from Facility Engineer to Operations Manager, where he managed facility maintenance, asset care, compliance processes, tenant coordination, and utility management. He drafted and signed SLAs, supervised post-construction defects, and approved tenant drawings. Notable projects included Tworivers Development project.
  • Maiteri & Associates Consulting Engineers (2014 – 2017): As Resident Electrical Engineer, he managed and coordinated MEP services on-site, resolved conflicts between drawings and site conditions, supervised contractor works, and verified IPC and quality control. Projects included a 66 KV substation, a 1.28MW solar plant, and a 12.5 MW standby generator.
  • GAP Fabricators Ltd (2010 – 2014): As Site Agent, he managed all construction site activities, including labor hiring, material purchasing, drawing interpretation, client relations, subcontractor supervision, and budget control.
  • Mugoya Construction and Engineering Co. Ltd (1995 – 2007): As Production Engineer, Peter managed wire products units, supervised personnel, improved power factor, maintained production unit facilities and assets, and handled installations and commissioning of production machines. Projects included Kenya Commercial Bank’s Management Center, Nyayo Estate, Karen NSSF Building, and The Times Towers.
